The Nuki Smart Lock can be mounted on the inside of your door in just a few minutes without damaging it. The powerful motor rotates the key in the lock. If desired, the system can be controlled entirely locally using only Bluetooth. For remote access, the Smart Lock connects to your router at home – either using a separate Nuki Bridge or the integrated WiFi in the Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 Pro. The Smart Lock is opened automatically upon approach (Auto Unlock), via smartphone or smartwatch app or by using the old key, which still works. Nuki offers accessories like the Fob, a convenient remote control as a key replacement, as well as the Keypad and Keypad 2.0. Both Keypads enable you to open the door using a six-digit code; the Keypad 2.0 also has a fingerprint sensor.

While keys that have been lent out can be used at any time and by anyone, digital keys can be restricted in time. Of course, you can grant full access to, for example, family members and other trusted individuals at any time, day or night. But if the dog sitter comes every Monday afternoon, it is perfectly sufficient for the permission to only be valid during that specific time frame. Or, if you have a neighbor who can check on things while you’re away, granting them access for the duration of your vacation is sufficient. If your Smart Lock is connected to the Internet, permissions can also be granted and revoked remotely.

The Smart Lock is only under the complete control of the owners, who can revoke permissions just as quickly as they were granted. When a permission is created, a code is generated. This code can only be redeemed once and only within 48 hours. Afterwards, the code is useless. For those who want to be absolutely certain that only the authorized person has access, the Nuki Keypad 2.0 with fingerprint scanner is the perfect solution. The activity log in the Nuki app shows you who opened the front door and when, recording every door opening and closing if desired.
