Now available: Nuki App Update 2.7.1

Revised iOS Widget

With the introduction of iOS 14, Apple has created many new possibilities in the use and customisation of App Widgets. In order for you to benefit from these innovations, we have given our Nuki Widget for iOS a complete makeover. From now on, you can use the Nuki iOS Widget on all screens for the first time. On top of that, the widget can be fully adapted to your needs.

For example, if you always perform a certain action on a particular device, you can store this lock action in a compact widget. Not only that, but you can now merge lock actions of different access solutions. Thus, you can control your Nuki Smart Lock and Nuki Opener in one widget. You can now also set a direct link to a menu item or the protocol in the widget, so that you can get to the item in question even easier and more efficiently.

Android App Authentication

Back in September, we extended the Nuki iOS App with an additional authentication via TouchID (fingerprint), FaceID or code. With the latest update, we announced our plans to develop this feature for Android, too. This implementation has now been completed and will be available to all Android users as of App version 2.7.1. This means that you can secure the opening of the Nuki App with the biometric authentication method selected in your system settings.
To activate it, just open the main menu of your Nuki App and activate the “Authentication required” toggle in the “Security” submenu.

Automatic Firmware Update

It is important to us that you can always benefit from all the new features as quickly and easily as possible. For this reason, we have optimised our firmware update process several times in the past. This process has now been revised again, and we are happy to inform you that you will never have to worry about the firmware version of your Smart Lock or Nuki Opener again!

From now on, you have the possibility to get all firmware updates for your access solutions installed automatically. This means your Nuki Smart Lock and Nuki Opener will check daily if a new firmware version is available and install it overnight. A corresponding note in the log will inform you when the update is finished. This way, even users who control their Smart Lock or Opener primarily via extensions – such as the Nuki Keypad – can always benefit from the latest firmware version.

Of course, you can also deactivate this setting if you prefer to control the process manually. You can find the corresponding point in the administration of your Smart Lock in the “Software Update” area. Please note that you need the Nuki Bridge to use the automated firmware process.

Keypad Battery Warning

Did you know that the service life of the button cells in your keypad is approximately two years with average use? Nevertheless, it is important that you are always informed about the current battery status. That’s why we have now implemented battery warnings for the Nuki Keypad. This means your Keypad checks the current status every time it is locked and sends a warning to the Nuki App if the battery status drops below 20%.

Last but not least, we are happy to announce that the Nuki App and Nuki Web are now also available in Polish. So you can now use Nuki in the following languages:
