How do I set up the Remote Access for my Smart Lock Go?

After completing the purchase of Remote Access of your Smart Lock Go, you have two possibilities to connect it to your internet at home. You can use the built-in Wi-Fi to connect it directly with your network ("Settings" - "Features&configuration" - "Built-in Wi-Fi"). You can find more detailed information here.If your Smart Lock is integrated into your smart home via Matter and you are using a suitable hub, you can establish the connection to your Wi-Fi over this hub. To be compatible a hub has to support Matter over Thread and NAT64. NAT64 enabled the hub to establish a connection between the Thread network (IPv6) and the Nuki server infrastructure (IPv4). You can find out whether your hub supports NAT64 from the manufacturer of the respective hub. In our help center you can find a list of suitable hubs.

Which hubs are currently compatible?

Compatible hubs are those that support Matter via Thread and NAT64. NAT64 support is necessary to ensure that the Matter hub can establish the connection between the Thread network (IPv6) and the Nuki server infrastructure (IPv4). Whether your hub supports NAT64 can be found out from the manufacturer of the respective hub. A complete list of all currently compatible hubs can be found in our Help Center.

Can I also manage my devices on my computer?

If your devices are connected to the internet and are therefore online, you can also manage them through your PC. To do so, you first need to activate Nuki Web. With Nuki Web, you can use all the functions offered by the Nuki app through a browser. In addition, you can use Nuki Web to easily integrate your Smart Lock into your existing smart home environment.

How secure is my data?

You don’t need a user account to use the Nuki Smart Lock or Opener, and your data is not stored on our servers. This applies both to using Nuki within Bluetooth range and via Wi-Fi if you’ve connected your Nuki device to a Nuki Bridge. Whenever possible, your data will only be processed on your end devices.Of course, you can also use our cloud service Nuki Web, which requires data caching on our servers for processing. This Nuki service is optional, and you are free to decide whether you want to use it and for how long. You can find more information about this here.

Do I need Remote Access if my Smart Lock Go is already integrated into my smart home over Matter?

With Matter, you can easily integrate your Nuki Go into the smart home system of your choice. This allows you to lock or unlock your Nuki remotely via your smart home platform. However, it does not allow you to manage your device remotely. For example, you cannot assign access permissions, change settings, or check your activity log from a distance. If you purchase and enable Remote Access for your Nuki Go, you can use the full functionality of the Nuki app remotely.
