Your secure smart home starts here.

We care about security – because it’s about your home

At Nuki, we back our products with rigorous testing, independent certifications, and advanced encryption. But true smart home security is a partnership — the way you use your devices matters, too.

We’ll show you what you can do to keep your smart home absolutely secure and what Nuki has done to ensure that your devices offer the highest possible standard of security.

What we do to offer you the highest security standards

Nuki encryption concept

Nuki uses advanced end-to-end encryption to protect every interaction between your devices. It's the same level of security you expect from online banking — ensuring your data and access stay completely private.

Independent certification

We don’t just claim security — we prove it. Our products are regularly tested and certified by independent labs like AV-TEST to ensure they meet the highest standards.

Regular updates

We hold ourselves to the highest security standards — and we’re constantly improving. That’s why it’s essential to keep your Nuki app and device firmware updated, so you always benefit from the latest features and protections.

No data in the cloud

By default, Nuki doesn’t store your data on our servers — not even when you access your lock remotely. An account is only required if you choose to use Nuki Web, at which point your data is securely stored to enable web-based access.

Four tips

for a secure smart home

Secure Wi-Fi

To keep your smart home safe, ensure your Wi-Fi network is properly encrypted. We recommend using WPA2 PSK for strong security, and don’t forget to set a secure, unique password to protect your devices.

Passwords and authentication

Use unique, secure passwords for each of your accounts to prevent unauthorized access. For added security, we offer extra protection options like additional authentication when opening the app or two-factor authentication for Nuki Web.

Current software versions

Ensure you have the latest software versions installed on all your devices, as these often include important security updates. This includes both your Nuki devices and the Nuki app.

Focus on quality

When selecting smart home devices, opt for reputable brands that prioritize security and data protection. Make sure they provide clear information about their privacy practices and security standards.
