Update for Auto Unlock and MQTT

Graz (Austria), April 18th, 2023
- Improved settings for Auto Unlock: With the latest update, Nuki’s most popular opening feature gets its own menu item in the app.
- Auto Unlock now works better with multiple Smart Locks: New option deactivates automatic door opening for additional Smart Locks.
- MQTT for Smart Lock 3.0 Pro: Standard integrates Nuki into local smart home installations.
Good software requires continuous upkeep. That’s why Nuki uses the app’s regular maintenance updates to improve its features or even provide users with completely new possibilities. In its latest update, Nuki is once again improving its most popular opening option Auto Unlock. In addition, Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 Pro is now able to be integrated into local smart home systems such as Loxone, OpenHab, Home Assistant and many more using the MQTT standard.
Automatic door opening is even better
Automatic door opening, or Auto Unlock, is by far the most popular feature of all Nuki Smart Locks. To make the feature even more accessible, it has been given its own menu item in the settings. Alongside the various options, you will find a clearly illustrated explanation of how Auto Unlock works. If a lock in a home is opened via Auto Unlock, the new option “Consider nearby devices” deactivates automatic door opening on other Smart Locks in the same home. This means that users can also use Auto Unlock on two or more doors in the same home.
MQTT integrates Nuki into local smart home installations
“To us it has always been important to connect Nuki to as many smart home systems as possible”, explains Martin Pansy, Co-Founder and CEO of Nuki Home Solutions GmbH. “With the MQTT support now available, we are expanding the range of possible integrations even further.” MQTT interfaces are very popular with local smart home systems that are usually operated on their own servers. The standard boasts low power consumption and high reliability. Thanks to the MQTT API, the Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 Pro can be easily integrated into popular systems like Loxone, openHAB and HomeAssistant.
Available now for iOS and Android
All of the new features described are part of the current app update, which can be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
