What are the requirements to use the Keypad 2 NFC?

To use the Keypad 2 NFC you need a compatible Nuki Smart Lock. Those are all Matter-capable Nuki Smart Locks (Smart Lock Ultra, Pro, Go and 4th generation Smart Locks).If you are already a Nuki user you can also use our Upgrade Program to purchase the Keypad 2 NFC + Smart Lock Pro for a special price.If you want to use the Nuki App Mode to use Tap to Unlock independently of your smart home system, no additional devices are required. Every user that has an app permission for your Smart Lock can also use Tap to Unlock.If you want to use the Smart Home Mode you can choose between Apple home keys and Samsung Digital Home Keys.Apple home keyYour Smart Lock needs to be connected to your Apple Home over Matter with a compatible hub. What if I don’t have a Matter hub?

If you don't have a Matter hub you still can use the Nuki App Mode to take advantage of Tap to Unlock. Please consider that you need a compatible Nuki Smart Lock: Compatible are all Matter-capable Nuki Smart Locks (Smart Lock Ultra, Pro, Go and 4th generation Smart Locks).

I subscribed to the early bird offer. How can I redeem my discount?

You received your individual voucher code via email – please also check your spam folder – when the Keypad 2 NFC was officially released (March 24th, 2026). Just add your voucher code at the checkout and the discount is automatically deducted.

Question 4

How can I manage NFC permissions?

Accepted Answer

If you are using the Nuki App Mode, the NFC permission is connected to someone's App permission and has the same access rights and limitations as the respective user.
For the Smart Home Mode all permissions need to be managed within your respective smart home app. This also includes adding or deleting new Tap to Unlock users.

What if my phones battery dies?

Accepted Answer

For Apple devices the power reserve is available - for this to work Express Mode has to be enabled. That means, you can also use Tap to Unlock when you run out of battery (up to 5 hours after the battery drains naturally). However, it does not work if you turn off your phone completely.
Power reserve is also available for selected Samsung devices.
Please consider that for the Nuki App Mode power reserve is not available and will not work if your phone battery dies.
You can of course still unlock your door with an entry code or fingerprint.

How is my Nuki Keypad 2 NFC protected against theft?

Because Nuki Keypad 2 NFC is mounted outside in your entrance area, it’s visible to people outside.Should your Nuki Keypad 2 NFC be stolen, we offer you a theft replacement guarantee. Just send us a copy of your loss report (issued by the police) and proof of ownership (original invoice) of your device. Once we’ve received your documents, we’ll send you a free replacement product.
