In keeping with our guiding principles smart – simple – secure, we focused on integration into smart home systems right from the start:
Nuki Skills: new features and even more options for Alexa Routines
Alexa users have often used Nuki in typical evening Routines, such as:
Voice command: “Good night” → all lights are switched off → the shutters are lowered → the heating goes into energy-saving mode → the Nuki Smart Lock locks the door.
However, the door could only be locked at the end of an action.
Now you can also use Nuki as a trigger for a Routine. This opens up completely new possibilities.
Examples of Alexa Skills using Nuki as a trigger
The more devices you integrate into your smart home, the more customised and comprehensive you can make your Routines. There are no limits to your creativity. For example, you could set up an automation called “Welcome Home”:
You come home, unlock your Nuki Smart Lock (via the app or the Nuki Keypad, for example), and the change in your Smart Lock’s status (from “closed” to “open”) automatically triggers the following actions:
→Your lights turn on and glow with a warm tone.
→Alexa greets you.
→Your favourite playlist or a rundown of the news starts playing.
→The light in the hallway is switched off.
→The thermostats are set to a comfortable room temperature.
Turn your voice into a smart key – you’ll never have to go AFK again just because the doorbell is ringing:

Now, however, all users can benefit from the entire range of functions that the Nuki Skills offer in the Alexa app.
This means the Nuki Skill is now available for 7 markets:
I belong to those who claim to "not really know their way around technology". It is therefore important to me that complex processes are presented in an understandable and simple way. What fascinates me about Smart Lock technology is the fact that it not only replaces the key - the central element of a home - but also extends it. An innovation for everyone, not just for techies.
