What are the requirements for the Nuki Bridge?

To use the Bridge you need the following:- A power socket near your Nuki devices. The Bridge will be permanently plugged into this socket. The Nuki Bridge can be used with all conventional sockets (110 to 240 Volt power supply).- Wi-Fi with 2.4 GHz signal (standard version) within range of the Bridge.

What is the maximum distance between my Bridge and connected Nuki devices?

The Bridge is connected to your devices via Bluetooth. It has a Bluetooth range of about five meters. Please note that the range can be limited by obstacles such as walls or heavy furniture.Here you can find further information on how to optimally align the Bridge to ensure a stable connection.

With which Nuki devices is the Bridge compatible?

You use the Nuki Bridge to connect your Opener to the internet. You can also use it to connect Smart Lock generations 1st - 4th and the Smart Door with your Network.

Can I connect multiple devices to a Nuki Bridge?

In principle, several Nuki devices (Smart Lock, Opener) can be connected to a Nuki Bridge at the same time. However, it is important that each device is within Bluetooth range (max. 5 meters) of the Bridge.

Why do I also need a Nuki Bridge to use the Nuki Opener?

Accepted Answer

The Opener communicates through Bluetooth (BLE). However, since a Bluetooth connection between your apartment and the front door of your building is usually not stable enough, or because there might not even be a connection at all, we recommend exclusively using the Opener together with the Bridge, which is connected to Wi-Fi. You can additionally also use the Bridge to remotely open the front door of your building.

How secure is my data?

You don’t need a user account to use the Nuki Smart Lock or Opener, and your data is not stored on our servers. This applies both to using Nuki within Bluetooth range and via Wi-Fi if you’ve connected your Nuki device to a Nuki Bridge. Whenever possible, your data will only be processed on your end devices.Of course, you can also use our cloud service Nuki Web, which requires data caching on our servers for processing. This Nuki service is optional, and you are free to decide whether you want to use it and for how long. You can find more information about this here.
