Nuki uses state-of-the-art encryption mechanisms commonly used in online banking. All communication with the Smart Lock is protected with end-to-end encryption. We also have our Smart Lock regularly inspected and certified by independent security institutes.Additionally, the Universal Cylinder that comes with your Nuki Ultra offers best-in-class physical security for your door and offers a drill-resistant body. Nuki Universal Cylinder has passed the industry's highest security mark (SKG***) and has both EN 1303 and DIN18252 certifications.

What is the Universal Cylinder?

Nuki Universal Cylinder is a lock cylinder designed specifically for Nuki Smart Locks. The Universal Cylinder replaces the current cylinder installed on your door. A lock cylinder is where you insert your key to lock and unlock your door - that’s why when you change your cylinder, you’ll also receive new keys.

How long does a fully charged battery last?

Is the Nuki Smart Lock Ultra compatible with the entire range of Nuki accessories?

Accepted Answer

Nuki Smart Lock Ultra is compatible with a wide range of Nuki accessories, including the Fob, Keypad and Keypad 2, Keypad 2 Pro and Door Sensor.
Please note that since Nuki Smart Lock Ultra already includes a built-in Wi-Fi module, it is not compatible with a Nuki Bridge. Similarly, since Nuki Ultra is shipped with a new and improved Universal Cylinder, it is not compatible with older Universal Cylinders.

What do I do if don’t have a smartphone or my Smart Lock Ultra runs out of battery?

The Universal Cylinder that comes with your Smart Lock Ultra has a so-called “emergency function”. This basically means you can use your physical keys to open your door, even with your Smart Lock Ultra installed on your door. So even if your Smart Lock is out of power, you can simply use your keys to come in.You’ll always receive a warning when your lock’s battery level drops below 20%, giving you more than enough time to quickly recharge your device.In case you simply don’t have your phone at hand, there are many other ways to unlock your door too, for example:
Asking someone with an access permission to open it for you remotely

Using the Nuki Web service if you have an account to open your door without a phone

Using a smartwatch to open your door

Using one of our accessories to open your door with a code, fingerprint, or a Fob.

The demand for the Smart Lock Ultra remains extremely high, and we are ramping up production to provide devices for everyone interested. To manage this exceptionally high demand as efficiently as possible, we are sending out notifications in batches whenever new devices become available. Our Nuki Club members receive priority notifications. However, whenever new units are available in the Nuki Shop, they are open for everyone to purchase—not just those who received a notification.
