Autumn is usually an exciting time at Nuki. In recent years, we have had exhibitions at the IFA trade show in Berlin and showcased our plans for future product innovations. However, a lot has changed in 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to attend IFA and held this year’s Nuki Update online. Our CEO Martin Pansy presented the Nuki Club, the Limited White Edition, the Power Pack and the Nuki installation service to the public in a video message.
Steady course of growth
Time for a quick trip down memory lane: The Nuki success story began about five years ago with one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns in the German-speaking world. A lot has happened since the first generation of the Nuki Smart Lock was launched back in 2016:

Together we have been able to achieve many milestones. This is all down to the commitment of the entire Nuki team, which now consists of over 80 employees at the company’s headquarters in Graz (Austria). As our guiding principle suggests – only a strong community, consistent customer feedback and the rapid implementation of new findings can lead to continued development and thus long-term success!
Our close communication with the Nuki community and regular customer surveys play a particularly important role. The insights gleaned from this directly influence the planning of the Nuki product roadmap. Today, we are the European market leader in the field of retrofittable smart access solutions and have already shipped more than 150,000 Nuki Smart Locks to over 100 countries around the world. But this is only the beginning: We have ambitious growth targets, as we aim to make every door in Europe smart!
Lower sales prices
Due to the increasing demand for our smart access solutions, we will be producing a larger number of Smart Locks. The resulting economy of scale is bringing down our unit price. Because we want to pass on these very savings to our customers, we are permanently reducing the sales price of the Nuki Smart Lock by 30 euros.
This permanent price reduction also applies to the Nuki Combo and our other combo bundles in the Nuki Online Shop. The price adjustment will in no way impact the high quality of the Nuki Smart Lock as a product. On the software side of things, we still have big plans to further improve the product experience. We are already busy preparing the next update.
